Mental Health First Aider Certification

Leader Optec is delighted to announce that Laurie Summers, our HR Director, has recently completed Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) training with MHFA England. This certification empowers Laurie to play a pivotal role in supporting the mental well-being of our workforce.

The MHFA training program is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health issues in the workplace. Laurie’s role as a Mental Health First Aider demonstrates our commitment to creating a supportive and proactive mental health environment.

Key Aspects of the MHFA Training Include:

  • Recognising Signs: Ability to identify early symptoms of mental health conditions.
  • Providing Support: Offering initial help and guiding individuals towards professional support.
  • Promoting Well-being: Encouraging a healthy, open dialogue about mental health within the workplace.
  • Building Resilience: Helping colleagues build resilience and cope with mental health challenges.

Leader Optec recognises the importance of mental health and well-being in the workplace. By having a certified Mental Health First Aider, we are taking proactive steps to ensure our employees have access to the support they need. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to fostering a healthy and inclusive workplace culture.

“I am thrilled to have completed the MHFA training. It’s vital that we create an environment where mental health is openly discussed and supported. This training equips me with the tools to assist our employees in navigating their mental health journeys, ensuring they feel supported and valued.”
