Hybrid Cables
A hybrid camera cable contains three primary core types to simultaneously transmit high-bandwidth video, electrical power, and control data between a broadcast camera and a camera control unit (CCU)

• Single-Mode Optical Fibers (2 Cores) transports uncompressed high-definition, 4K, or 8K video signals from the camera to the base station.
• Auxiliary Power Conductors (4 Copper Cores / 2 Pairs, typically 20 AWG) Delivers stable DC electrical power from the CCU to power the camera head.
• Signal and Control Conductors (2 Copper Cores / 1 Pair, typically 24 AWG) Transmits camera control data and adjustments.

Pair this cable with your choice of connector and an optional, re-deployable drum for a rugged, reliable solution.

SMPTE Connectors
To accompany your SMPTE 311M hybrid cables, you will use industry-standard SMPTE 304M connectors. Canare offers a highly popular, rugged line of Hybrid Fibre Optic (HFO) hardware such as the FCFA plug and FCMA socket series—designed specifically for road-readiness, easy deployment, and simplified field maintenance.

Leader Optec has recently been certified as Canare's only Manufacturer, Distributor and Repair Centre in the UK. We are very close to being able to offer these assemblies via our normal production channels.

Rugged reels

Due to many broadcast environments being temporary or requiring a quick fix, we recommend your assembly be supplied on a re-deployable Schill reel.
